Art In Bloom In New Orleans
Share
It was a special weekend for floral designers, garden clubs, decorators, interesting personalities and visitors to the New Orleans Museum of Art. There was beauty and creative design with room to spare! Each year the Garden Clubs have the challenge of interpreting one of the Museum's hanging works.
My particular favorite was the ode to Lee Krasner (I am a HUGE fan of her work and her perseverance) with pink roses, moss and curly willow.
I also loved the well executed Martini Glass designed by the Garden Study Club.
One of the events around Art in Bloom is the floral lecture and this year the speaks were Putnam and Putnam of NYC and world-renowned designer Nicki Haslam. Below is an exhibit the Putnams put together for the event and I thought it gorgeous.
Floral Designers also grabbing the spotlight included Urban Earth for boutique owner Susu Stall of SoSUSU.
I exhibited too - with Tablescapes like the Exhiition by Peony
More tongue in cheek than elegant....still it was in keeping with the theme of the event "Illuminations" which was named for the exhibit by Keith Sonnier currently on view at the Museum.
Really, there were many artful arrangements - to many to list and highlight.
I don't know about you all but I ended the weekend on a "high" - I had the privilege of attending one of the most beautiful weddings imaginable - filled with love and joy and entirely outside!
Enjoy!
