Made from French and American recycled oak, these platters originating from used wine barrels, are a truly green and sustainable product. American craftsmen run the cooper’s craft in reverse and breathe a second, artful life into French oak wine casks.

The steam-bowed oak ribs and cambered end pieces all bear authentic cooper’s marks, many thirty or more years old, and are fitted with rugged wrought-iron hardware, hand-forged in Brooklyn. The surfaces are food-safe: finished with multiple layers of high-grade beeswax, polished to a quiet luster perfectly in step with the simple authenticity of an afternoon cheese picnic or tapas platter. The patina of Vintage Platters can vary from a natural oak color, through a honey patina, or deeply weathered oak. Vintage Platters are mostly available in the honey patina to the darker vintage, the choice is yours. The top surface of the platter can also be wine stained, leaving a serving surface of natural wood with red wine stains.
